History of this NY Deli in South Florida

Pomperdale Famous New York Deli is back to its former glory.

Back in the original five Buroughs–yes, we are counting South Florida as the sixth–every neighborhood has its deli. One would never have to travel far to find an awesome pastrami on rye, homemade turkey, corned beef, or lox. But for most native New Yorkers, things took a big change on the migration south.

What was once a five-minute walk, has become a 20-minute drive in the quest to find a taste of the homeland–and yes, we still do mean New York.

Over 50 Years of Doing It the Old Fashioned Way

Pomperdale Famous New York Deli is one local institution that has been serving northern migrants eastern European fare for over 50 Years. At Pomperdale Rick Bruskin (The Deli Guy) & Brie Bruskin (The Deli Gal), make it their mission to give Floridians the ultimate dining experience by serving up traditional New York deli food.

Our goal is to please you and we don’t cut corners in the process. We take the painstaking time to make sure everything is “just what the customer ordered!” We do everything the old fashioned way, including making our own matzo ball soup in house and pickling and curing our own meats. We do it all.

Hand-Picked, Hand-Sliced, Never Rushed

Pomperdale handpicks only USDA choice meats to serve to our customers. We are so meticulous about what we use, that we even have a personal jobber select all of our smoked fish from New York. We hand slice our fish in the European tradition, ensuring its silkiness and gorgeous texture. We are proud that Pomperdale has a staff of Certified Master Slicers who daily prepare the Nova for all of our customers. Now that’s care!

The portions at Pomperdale are huge, in the New York Tradition! The signature, cut-to-order pastrami and corned beef sandwiches are unparalleled, and not one customer has ever left our restaurant hungry!

Our menu includes everything from traditional Blintzes, Stuffed Cabbage and Latkes, to solid white loin Tuna, and Dill Chicken Salad. Are you hungry yet?
